goldfish

This was a project for this month in WCW, a group of people I paint with online. It's supposed to be an exercise in complimentary colors...I think my colors are a bit skewed, but it still follows the general idea :)

fixed my landscape

Hi all,
I made some changes to my landscape to make it flow a little better...unfortunately the photo came out blurry.  Hopefully you can still see the changes :)

new painting

Finished the 4 week art class that I was taking with my daughter Gabby.Had a really great time :) here is my latest watercolor and below that is Gabby's :)
I am not too sure about the use of cool colors in the front of the painting.  there seems to be something wrong with this but I am not sure what...any ideas?

This is Gabby's. she says her flowers look like fireworks...but I think they are very nice :)

painting for my mom

thought I would post a pic of a water color I painted about 11 yrs ago for my mom.

I have been thinking lately of painting some more pics with chickens in them since I just bought a bunch of new bantam chicks.  They are a week old now...here is a pic of them when they arrived at a day old :)

finally picked up a brush!

well, I finally painted something :)
Gabby and I are taking a watercolor class in Cumberland once a week and we both completed a painting the second night.  I am not totally happy with mine as it is missing something..but the depth is there and the colors are good...so its a good start to the summer and it was alot of fun to do :)  Gabby chose to do a rose instead of fruit and it came out very nice for her first try at a flower :)

Spring - Painting hiatus

Hi all,
Spring is a wonderful time of year for my family, as I am sure it is for all of yours.  It is a very busy time of year too, so I took April and May off from painting to devote all my time to the kids and preparing our home for summer.  This Spring we had 5 kids in soccer, one of which was playing in two leagues, and another who was also running track. He even made it to Districts and placed in two races!!  We had field trips to the theater and Washington, DC, teacher meetings, doctor appts, vet appts and dentist visits, college preparations and prep's to make for our daughter's summer mission trip to Peru.  that along with landscaping and new chickens, new gardens, etc. has kept us very busy and happy :)
School is coming to a close (June, 8th) and life will be hopefully slowing down to those long, lazy hazy days of summer we all love sharing with our children and friends.  I hope to be painting again by the second week of June and look forward to sharing my newest work with you.
Thank you all and God Bless!
Lisa

Crystal Bowls

My daughter, Gabby, and I worked on Crystal bowls in watercolor today.  These are based on a photo by Vicki Greene from WCW and a demo by Susan Roper.  the original demo used sepia, but we decided to use green (mine) and blue (Gabby) :)
